Ishan Khurana
Biography
Hi! I'm Ishan, a rising senior studying Biology (on the cell/molecular track) and Literary Arts. I'm a transfer student---I formerly attended UCLA!---and am very involved with TRUE orientation and the TRUE community at Brown. I'm also pre-med, and am a part of Brown's chapter of Doctors and Engineers Without Borders (DEWB), Brown Miriam Volunteer Project (BMVP), and will be starting work with Brown EMS (BEMS) this Fall. I participate in research in the Molecular Biology and Nanomedicine Lab at Warren Alpert, focusing on developing tools to deliver treatment for neurodegenerative diseases across the blood-brain barrier. I'm also passionate about education; I work as a TA for CHEM 0330 (Gen Chem I) and BIOL 0280 (Biochemistry), and am conducting some educational research with Professor Wang for CHEM 0330L. Outside of that, I play ultimate frisbee, write and make crosswords for post- magazine, and enjoy printmaking.
Because of my nontraditional educational pathway, I've come to learn a lot about Brown's curriculum and getting involved with opportunities you're passionate about here. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions about Biology at Brown or anything I mentioned above! I'm always happy to chat!
