Biography
I am a senior from San Francisco concentrating in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I have also completed coursework in neuroscience, cancer biology, public health, biostatistics, and computer science. Some of my favorite courses so far include but are not limited to cancer biology (BIOL1290), fundamentals of cancer immunotherapy (BIOL1295), and introduction to neuroscience (NEUR0010). On campus, I am a CHEM330 TA and tutor CHEM350, CHEM360, and BIOL800 at the Sheridan Center, where I lead the organic chemistry tutoring group. I am also involved in mentorship through the Biochemistry DUG, refugee tutoring through BRYTE, patient advocacy through Connect for Health, and global health equity through Doctors and Engineers Without Borders. I am interested in exploring the intersection between biochemistry and neuroscience, and am involved in glioblastoma research at Brown and UCSF. My projects focus on understanding glioma heterogeneity through the lenses of bioinformatics, epigenetics, and clinical outcomes to identify differentially expressed biomarkers, develop novel diagnostic tools, and contribute to therapeutic advancements. Following graduation, I hope to pursue translational biomedical research to bridge basic science and clinical medicine. In my free time, I enjoy sunset walks, ice-skating, and calligraphy.
